The 132,000-seat Narendra Modi Stadium’s predominantly pro-Indian audience was deafened when Head and Marnus Labuschagne (58 not out) combined for 192 runs to chase down the mark of 241.
After seven overs, Australia was stumbling at 47-3, but Head and Labuschagne didn’t give up and helped their nation take back its title as the world champions of one-day international cricket. Australia had won world crowns in 50-over cricket in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015.
