Uganda Creates History, Qualifies for T20 World Cup 2024

The Uganda cricket team made history on Thursday by qualifying for the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States. Rwanda was defeated by 9wickets while chasing 66 runs in 20 overs. Brian Masaba’s squad chased down the score in 8.1 overs, becoming the second team to qualify behind Namibia.

The African nation will be the continent’s sixth squad to qualify for the showcase event. Uganda finished second in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa region qualifying after winning five of six games.

Uganda overcame Zimbabwe on their way to becoming the 20th team to compete in the World Cup. The latter has routinely appeared in this competition.
