Arjuna Award 2023: Kohli congratulated Shami on his Arjuna Award for ODI World Cup brilliance.
Cricket legend Virat Kohli joined the chorus of congratulations pouring in for teammate Mohammed Shami, who was recently honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award for his stunning performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Shami, India’s premier fast bowler, received the award from President Draupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, and in a heartfelt Instagram post, expressed his deep gratitude to everyone who supported him during his journey, including coaches, the BCCI, his family, and most importantly, his dedicated fans.
Shami’s award, a testament to his relentless hard work and dedication, has brought immense pride to the nation, and Kohli’s warm felicitation further added to the celebratory atmosphere, reinforcing the strong bond within the Indian cricket team
Shami’s Arjuna Award joins him in elite company alongside fellow batting titan Kohli, who received the honor in 2014. After his blistering World Cup performance, BCCI championed Shami’s nomination, where he snagged the most wickets (24 in 7 matches) while propelling India to the final.
